A California girl, her niece and a dolphin-obsessed plan walk into an Irish pub...
It was 2019. My niece had just graduated university and desperately wanted to experience Ireland. I had recently come across the story of Fungie (the resident dolphin) and was an instant Yes! One Friday night on our Irish journey in Dingle was all the universe needed to cross Aiden and my paths. Two years of dating… he finally popped the question and I haven’t stopped laughing!
How Wildwood Became a Retreats Sanctuary
We stumbled across this one-of-a-kind property with rich history and filled with magic we could not ignore. Over time, our family grew – dogs, cats, one pony (who came home in the boot of my car!) until we had a little menagerie… eventually adding our signature pygmy gardening goats, Bonnie and Clyde!
I spent my career in medical devices, even teaching consultants robotic surgery, but had always dreamed that one day I wanted to be a Pilates Reformer teacher. When I moved to Ireland, it seemed like the perfect time to take that leap!
With three decades of Pilates practice and a lifelong love of music, I began choreographing my classes to a soundtrack, creating a fitness experience that is as energizing as it is restorative. Renovating one of the barns sparked the beginning of bringing the property back to life.
It felt natural to expand into the wellness space, sharing our beautiful surroundings in a more meaningful way. Drawing on visits to sports recovery and wellness centers and my experience with 5 star spas… we set out to create a sanctuary unlike anywhere else.
